The Midwest Art Conservation Center Presents Grant Writing for Advanced
Conservation Projects
April 19-20, 2007 at the Landmark Center in Saint Paul, MN
MACC staff will teach this two-day workshop with consultant Barbara
Davis. Ms. Davis is a consultant and grant writer with 30 years
experience. She is the author of "Writing a Successful Grant Proposal,"
currently available on the website for the Minnesota Council on
Foundations. In addition to her consulting, Ms. Davis has held key
directorial positions at the Minnesota Dance Theater and Resources and
Counseling for the Arts. Currently she runs her own consulting business
and works as the lead consultant to the Philadelphia Cultural Leadership
Program, Pew Charitable Trusts. Her knowledge and experience has assisted
hundreds of small, medium, and large nonprofits compete successfully for
grant funding.
The instructors will present a comprehensive workshop on grant-writing for
advanced conservation-related projects such as: HVAC System upgrades; major
storage renovations or additions, Object-by-Object detailed surveys of
collections; actual conservation treatments and other large scale or large
budget preservation and conservation projects. Barbara Davis will
concentrate on writing grant proposals to private funding sources for
matching funds. The goal of the workshop is for participants to leave the
session with a realistic and practical understanding of advanced grant
writing for large scale or large budget preservation and conservation
project proposals. Preservation Services staff will then follow-up with
participants who are developing full grant applications.
Registration fees for this two-day workshop will be $235 for MACC members
and $295 for non-members. Staff and volunteers from institutions with a
total operating budget below $50,000 and currently enrolled students
qualify for reduced fee. Please contact our office for details.
