The MDL Metadata Guidelines documents have been updated and are now
available online. The updates are intended to clarify definitions and
add a couple of fields requested by organizations participating in
"Minnesota Reflections."
* Metadata Entry Guidelines is available in pdf via links under
"Standards and practices" from the MDL homepage at
http://www.mndigital.org, from the Standards and practices pages at
http://mndigital.org/standards/standards.htm, or directly from
http://mndigital.org/web_assets/docs/metadata_guidelines_0603.pdf.
* The Metadata Spreadsheet (worksheet) is available in xls via the
first two links noted above or directly from
http://mndigital.org/web_assets/docs/metadata_worksheet_0603.xls.
While updating these resources, I noted that the links to best practices
were no longer working. The Collaborative Digitization Program,
formerly the Colorado Digitization Project, reorganized their Web site
and changed the URLs. The links to these resources from the MDL Web
have now been updated; a link to Digital Audio Best Practices has been
added.
