Metronet is planning to host two introductory teleconference sessions on
digital library collaborations.  Tom Shaughnessy, executive director of
Metronet, invites people who are interested in learning about
collaborative digital library projects, such as the Minnesota Digital
Library, to attend.  Drop Tom an email if you are interested (see
message below).

Since Metronet is an institutional member of SLA, we are notified of
SLA's professional development center programs.  These programs are
interactive and employ computer projection equipment and a speakerphone.
Our conference room has this equipment.  On July 6 and July 20 from 1:00
to 2:30 pm SLA will be offering  sessions on "the digital collaboration
landscape" and "launching a digital collaboration project".  Both
sessions will be presented by Kevin M. Dames of the Seso Group.  Altho
the MDL project is considerably more advanced than the content of these
sessions, Metronet is planning on hosting these programs in the hope
that members of the MN chapter of SLA will attend.  Metronet will cover
all of the costs.  In the event that you might know of some librarians
who are interested in joining the MDL but who lack some of the basic
knowledge required, we would be glad to accommodate them as well.
Should we find that there is not sufficient interest in this program, we
will cancel it.  Those interested in attending should let us know by
June 30.  We would be grateful if ou would pass this message on.
