Position Title:  Airport Operations Coordinator-Morristown, NJ

Position Classification:
Salaried, non-exempt ($19.95/hr + landing fee commissions). Benefits include relocation assistance, medical, dental, life insurance, vacation, personal/sick time, uniforms.

Facility:  Morristown Municipal Airport

Department:  Operations

Reports to:  Manager - Operations & Security

Position Requirements:
Four year degree in Aviation Management or equivalent. Job requires rotating shift work, nights, weekends and holidays.  Recent college graduate with internship experience preferred.

Principal Responsibilities:
Acts as airport management's representative in the enforcement of airport regulations, resolving problems/queries with established operating procedures and security protocols.

Principal Duties:
Operations Coordinator conducts airfield inspections, identifying and reporting all deficiencies and/or irregularities found on the AOA, associated lighting and NAVAID systems.  Responsible for identifying, preventing and/or removing all hazards to aviation including FOD, wildlife, AOA incursions, unauthorized vehicle and pedestrian entry, and disabled aircraft.  Issues and records all NOTAMS.  Investigates and logs all aircraft noise complaints.

Oversee daily construction activities as scheduled, ensure safety of operations areas around construction site, and report all construction activities to management.  Acts as liaison between airport and tenants regarding airport construction activities and operational hazards.

Acts as liaison with Air Traffic Control, Morristown ARFF and all responding agencies during airport emergencies.

Assists U. S. Customs and Border Protection and Department of Agriculture officials during international arrivals, including disposition of regulated international garbage.  Responsible for correct marshalling of aircraft to ensure safety of all aircraft buildings and personnel.

Conducts daily and periodic safety and quality control inspections of aviation fuel storage facility.  Monitors fueling operations to ensure safe and secure fuel distribution.

Logs tail numbers of transient aircraft for the collection of landing fees.  Operate the landing fee system including processing payments and generating invoices and statements.  Resolves inquires into landing fees for airport customers.  Resolves delinquent accounts.

Conducts tenant AOA driver training.

Responsible for monitoring and operating security camera and gate systems, responding to all security concerns, conducting security equipment checks and reporting all discrepancies found. Conducts security classes to airport tenants and users.

Member of the Snow Removal Team responsible for operations of snow removal equipment and snow operations.


 Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager, Operations & Security or Director, Operations & Governmental Affairs.
