[Aviation_Students] SCSU Aviation Department Golf Tournament!

Hello everyone:

The SCSU Department of Aviation will be holding our first ever golf tournament! This event will take place on Saturday, April 26 at Blackberry Ridge golf course in Sartell. Blackberry Ridge is a beautiful course and is very fun to play! The actual tournament will begin at 9:00am, but please arrive no later than 8:15am for registration and to pay your green fees, get your carts, etc.

We will be utilizing a 4-person team format.  Please email myself and Kevin Weiss (email address below) as soon as possible with the names of the people on your team. In order for the course to plan ahead effectively, all players names must be submitted to me no later than Friday April 18 at 12:00PM. Invite family, friends, co-workers, other students, faculty, etc. to come out and play in the tournament! The more the merrier!!!

Part of the reason for having the tournament is to help financially support our aviation student organizations, our flight team, and perhaps even contribute to student scholarships. Blackberry Ridge is giving us a price of $38 per person with cart, but since we are using the golf tourney as a fund raiser, we are asking for each person to pay $48 per person with cart. The additional $10 will go straight toward the fund raising initiative.

Since this is our first time doing a golf event, our tournament will be rather simple and straight-forward. We will have some door prizes and hole events (closest to the pin on a par 3, longest drive, etc.) More information to follow on prizes, etc.

At any rate, if we get enough golfers, we will be able to do a 9:00am shotgun start. We need a minimum of 40 players for the course to close 9 holes for us, 72 players to close the entire course for us. If we do not get enough players, we will simply do tee times for each team and send everyone off on to the course in a pre-determined order.

You will pay your greens fees the day of the event at Blackberry Ridge, so again, please arrive by 8:15am.
