To All Aviation Students:

 

SCSU Aviation Department Mentoring Program

An important piece of the mission and vision statement for the Aviation
Department at St. Cloud State University is to provide the highest
quality aviation education for all students, prepare graduates to enter
and advance in rewarding and responsible professional careers and,
provide positive contributions to the aviation community.  The Aviation
Department values a supportive environment for students.  The department
also values student involvement.  

To further the mission and vision of the department, the Aviation
Department will be initiating a mentor program.  This program will
provide guidance, friendship and mutual respect.  The program will be an
evolving process to best fit the needs of the students.  The mentor
program will help both the mentors and the mentees gain insight,
knowledge and satisfaction within the department and aviation community.


            This mentor program will provide a forum for new and
entering aviation students to have questions and concerns addressed at a
peer level.  This program will also provide upper classmen an
opportunity to share information and experiences with incoming students.
The mentor program will require 2-3 meetings per year with mentors and
mentees.   Mentors and mentees will also be required to communicate on a
bi-weekly basis.  The format and scope of communication will be at the
discretion of the mentor/mentee.
