PINNACLE AIRLINES
FLIGHT OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

GRADE: 20 ($18.51-23.13)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Works under the direction and supervision of the Base Manager.
2. Administers FARs and Contract as applicable to Flight
Crewmembers under the supervision of the Base Mgr.
3. Assist the Base Mgr in the monitoring the evaluation of
Probationary Pilots under the Probationary Pilot Review Procedure.
4. Assist in the reduction of crew non-planned absences
5. Review submitted request for Leaves of Absences.
6. Assist in the scheduling of fact finding investigations and
disciplinary hearings.
7. Be "on call" for operational issues as required.
8. Coordinate all Pilot Meetings/Forums under supervision of Base
Mgr..
9. Assist the Base Mgr. in development and monitoring of the
Base's Flight Operations budget.
10. Establish and maintain a close professional relationship with
all departments to maintain an efficient operation within the Hub.
11. Assist in establishing standards of performance and appearance
for the Base's Flight Operations Department.
12. Assist the Base Mgr in monitoring Base performance
(delays/completion) to ensure the Base's efficient daily flight
operations.
13. Assist in the audit process for the internal evaluation of
flight operations and participates in NASIS Program as established by
the Vice-President of Safety.
14. Assist in follow up of crew communications.
15. Assist in scheduled department staff meetings as needed.
16. Assist in the maintaining of pilot files.
17. Concentrate efforts on time limited projects as assigned by the
Chief Pilot and Base Mgr.
18. Monitor crew health, welfare and morale, making recommendations
on improvement programs.
19. Monitors the distribution of Company material to flight crews.
20. Maintain high level of knowledge in the following areas: Company
Policy, Pinnacle FOM, FAA Regulations, Operations Specifications, ALPA
Pilot Agreement, SBS-Operational and Payroll,
21. Monitor completion of assigned Drug/Alcohol Testing.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Performs additional functions that may be assigned from time to time.
Project development skills are a plus.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Some repetitive motion such as typing.
Position requires some physical exertion such as pulling, pushing,
reaching, bending, standing, walking and light lifting of boxes, bags
and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs. Can involve long
periods of sitting.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: This is a non-flying position involving
office work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A four year college degree and four years of
airline operations experience, or the equivalent. Must possess
excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational
skills. Must have a working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
and Employee Contract Administration. Must possess high level of
computer/typing skills, Microsoft Word and Excel and STRONG Microsoft
Access database development skills.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to work intermittent long hours
including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
