Here is the text that was supposed to go with the previous email. I forgot
that it sometimes does not show up if you attach a document.

Attached is a notice about 12 airport related jobs/internships I found on
the AAAE Airport Jobs or were listed earlier in this list by Ms. Harl
. Hiring activity in this sector of the aviation industry is the best I
have seen in at least 10 years!

Also, as posted earlier by Dr. Johnson, the FAA has started
"off-the-street" hiring which means you do not have to go to a CTI school -
I anticipate that many positions will be listed from now on at the FAA ATC
employment site - http://jobs.faa.gov/Allfaajobs.htm just type in
"Control" for Title containing (See vacancies labeled "All Sources"). The
Air Traffic Control Career Prep Study Guide wth CD-ROM is available from
ASA see http://www.asa2fly.com/files/pr/ATC-2PR.pdf To get the scoop from
those actually pursuing the ATC employment process go to http://atccti.com/
and read the Bulletin Board forum comments. To view a video (note: I am
not in complete agreement with all they say about the issue but make your
own decisions) about how to get an FAA ATC job go to
http://www.faa.gov/airports_airtraffic/air_traffic/controller_staffing/#Scene_1
- you can also download the Workforce Plan 2007–2016 (full PDF document is
5 MB)) from here.

The FAA Aerospace Forecasts FY 2006-2017 is posted at
http://www.faa.gov/news/conferences/aviation_forecast_2006/ (full PDF
document is 8.5 MB)

Many regional airlines have dropped their flight time entry-level
requirements for pilots.

Could this mean that the much anticipated retirement wave has started? I
don't know but you should act now to do some networking if you want that
aviation job (even if your graduation is a few years off in the future).

In addition to receiving emails from the SCSU lists you can also have the
AAAE search agent email you openings according to your criteria. Most job
sites offer this service for FREE!

This will probably be my last posting to the SCSU aviation lists. Follow
your dreams - I know I have and will continue to. Remember to have fun and
to take some time for you and your family - life only happens once!
