".................airline industry is looking to hire 12,000 more pilots
this year and 65,000 more by 2012. Hampering industry efforts, however,
is a morass of new government regulations and a scarcity of new
recruits."
FAA will also hire over 12,000 new recruits but the FAA problem is that
the old timers are retiring ASAP and a lot of the newbies are quitting.
Airport job postings are the highest I hvae seen in a decade.
Further proof that there is an overall aviation employee shortage.
1981 high time pilots and low time controllers --- fast forward 26 years
--- 2007-2012 low time pilots AND low time controllers. Anybody know a
few good safety folks?
Thank you Dr. Pat Matson for bringing this to the dept's attention!!!
