[Aviation_Students] Attention all aviation student org members!

Attention all!
 
I was just talking with a friend of mine who happens to be a Senator for student government.  She informed me that at the meeting on Thursday, December 7, student government took a vote to approve their budget (which was submitted on Thursday to be voted on in January and take effect during the next fiscal year, per SFC policy).  This senator informed me that she voted against the budget proposal because SOME OF THE SENATORS ON STUDENT GOVERNMENT PETITIONED FOR A RAISE IN THEIR STIPEND EVEN AFTER THEY CUT OUR STUDENT ORG BUDGETS!  The vote was noted in the official SGA minutes and will be released soon, then the budget proposal goes to Senate Finance Committee for approval and then gets voted on again at the next student government meeting on Thursday, January 18.
 
I find this appalling as the SGA found it appropriate to slash the budgets of many student orgs on campus, including the aviation department orgs, yet finds it applicable to award themselves pay raises.
 
I think we should all rally against this and attend the meeting in January to point out the ethical deficiencies of this proposed decision.  SGA will try and make the point that it was the Senate Finance Committee who slashed the budgets, not SGA; however, SFC is a part of Stu. Government so in effect yes SGA did slash our budgets.
